The express phase for the title in the Futsal First Division will be held from June 23 to 30 in the pavilion José María Martín Carpena de Málaga with the Participation of the first eight classified in the regular competition until it was paralyzed by the expansion of the coronavirus and this has been decided by the Higher Sports Council (CSD), which has contacted these clubs to notify them.
These Qualifying rounds, which will start from the quarterfinals once the regular championship ended with seven days still pending, will take place in just one week and the final coincides with the date on which it had to end a priori the 2019/2020 season although days ago it had been suggested that surely this fast format tournament – each tie will be resolved to a match – would take place in mid-July.
The op sition to that date that had been shown by some clubs, especially Osasuna Magna, which came to publicize that it would not present its team if it was played next month, has led the CSD to mediate to make this decision, which is missing that the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which organizes the competition, endorses it.
In the offices of the current runner-up, El Pozo Murcia Costa Cálida, who will participate in the title fight as fourth classified and will face Palma Futsal has received the notification with the chosen dates, confirmed to EFE its general director and sports director, Fran Serrejón.
Along with ElPozo and Palma they will be present in the fight for the league trophy Movistar Inter, the current champion Barça and Viña Albali Valdepeñas, first, second and third classified in the competition until that the pandemic left her on hold; plus Osasuna Magna, Valencian Levante and Jaén Paraíso Interior, sixth, seventh and eighth.
The duels will be Inter-Jaén Barça-Levante, Valdepeñas-Osasuna and ElPozo-Palma with two quarter-final matches on Tuesday 23, another two on Wednesday 24, the semifinals on Saturday 27 and the final on Tuesday 30.
In El Pozo the decision taken is well seen, because most of their players are eager to play "as soon as possible" and they have been declaring it since a couple of weeks ago they returned to training with their minds set on the outcome of the season
