The UEFA Executive Committee has approved this Thursday the possibility of making five changes throughout the 2020-21 season in the Champions League and the Europa League -from the group stage- and the League of Nations a measure designed to allow players more rest in a calendar compressed by the pandemic.

On the other hand, the body, following an agreement with the European clubs and leagues, decided to extend the 'windows' of March and September 2021 for national teams so that three matches can be held instead of two. This solution has already been put into practice, with the approval of FIFA, for the international windows of October and November 2020.
In addition, it was set that the final phase of the League of Nations will be played on October 6 and 7, 2021 in its two semi-finals, while the final and the match for third place will take place on October 10, 2021. Three federations from Group 1 have shown their interest in hosting the final phase: Italy, Holland and Poland.
