Today a new cycle begins in the AFA . With many common faces, but an organizational chart with a greater leadership presence. Claudio Tapia will be reelected for five more years and will double the number of vice presidencies: it will go from three to six years, with the return of River after several years of absence.

Rodolfo D'Onofrio will be one of the six vice-presidents – there is no hierarchy that puts one above the other – in the highest body of Argentine soccer whose Assembly will be held from 3.30 pm through a virtual meeting. There, the formalism of the elections will be met, as required by the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ).

There will be 46 assembly members empowered to vote

In addition to reorganizing the structure of the Executive Committee with the presence of all the main clubs, this afternoon's Assembly will serve to officially create the Professional League, a tournament that will replace the Argentine Soccer Super League . The difference? The new event will be under Tapia's orbit instead of being independent. The responsibility will be with Marcelo Tinelli, president of San Lorenzo and one of the vices of the AFA .

Meanwhile, the return of football remains without an expected date . The leaders point to September for the return to competition, although the desire is subject to the disposition of the national health authorities and the permits granted by the different provinces, taking into account that the map of Argentine soccer includes many teams .
