22 teams and possible end in October

The conversion for the NBA is not being easy whose competitiveness makes it difficult to choose a competition model that allows the end of the season. After many laps and probing players and franchises, it seems that the model that the Commissioner will present on Thursday before the Board of Governors will include a regular phase and playoffs for 22 teams .

Those participants would come out of the 16 who would currently occupy a playoff spot and six others who are less than eight victories from that possibility and who would be San Antonio, New Orleans, Sacramento, Phoenix, Portland and Washington .

The Commissioner's idea is for the competition to begin in Orlando, at the Disney World complex on July 31 and to be extended, at most, until on October 12. Those two and a half months should give of themselves for the dispute of a regular phase that defines the contenders for the title and the playoffs including a final for seven games.

The final decision will be made, presumably, at the Board of Governors scheduled for tomorrow Thursday where league officials will define the near future of the NBA.
